Q & A Candidate

4selection operates differently from most recruitment and headhunting companies, which is why we have prepared these Q&As for candidates. We encourage you to read them carefully, preferably before submitting your application materials.

By submitting an application via our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms of cooperation.

Our Commitment to Fair Recruitment

“We believe it is crucial to emphasise that we do not select candidates based on age, and we do not accept age as a factor defined by our clients. We also do not discriminate based on race, skin colour, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, disability status, or whether a candidate has children. Our selection process focuses on the overall talent and suitability of the candidate, assessing whether they can succeed in the role.”

Individual Dialogues Before an Interview

We prioritise professionalism and ensure that all candidates are evaluated based on the job profile we have established. To maintain fairness, we do not offer additional information, extra dialogues, or question-and-answer sessions before a candidate is selected for the interview process. This ensures that all candidates are treated equally.

Applications from Other Countries

We operate globally and receive applications from all over the world. However, local rules and guidelines regarding visas and work permits vary significantly between countries.

For example, obtaining a visa and work permit for Denmark is particularly challenging for most job types, especially for candidates without an EU passport. Danish legislation is strict, and we adhere to both Danish and EU laws in this regard.

4selection does not provide financial guarantees for candidates visiting the country as part of the recruitment process. We do not cover expenses such as flight tickets or hotels; these must be arranged between the candidate and our client, with prior written approval from the client.

Confidentiality

We value the confidentiality of both our clients and candidates. We do not disclose the identity of the company involved in the recruitment process until we believe a candidate is a potential match. At that point, we will inform the candidate about the company and seek their consent before sharing their details with the client.

Receipt of Applications, CVs, and Materials

We only accept applications submitted through our job portal, candidatedatabank.com. Applications received through other channels will not be considered. This ensures compliance with Danish and European legislation, and by submitting your application through our portal, you provide your consent for us to process your data.

What We Do Not Ask or Select On

We do not ask about or base our selection on:

  • Religious affiliation;
  • Membership in organisations such as trade unions;
  • Sexual preferences;
  • Whether a candidate has or plans to have children;
  • Health status, unless it directly impacts the ability to perform physically demanding tasks;
  • Age, as it is both illegal and irrelevant to our selection process.

We adhere to the Danish Discrimination Act (Forskelsbehandlingsloven), which prohibits employers from asking for age-related information during job applications.

In some countries, such as those in Asia, age may be viewed as an advantage due to the value placed on extensive work experience. However, we do not consider age a factor in our recruitment process.

Psychological Recruitment Tests and Analyses

Some clients may require occupational psychological tests and analyses as part of the recruitment process. If this applies to your application, we will ask for your consent to participate in these assessments.

References

We place significant emphasis on references, both written and verbal. If you are shortlisted, we will request permission to contact your previous employers for references. We will only contact your current employer with your written consent.

References are typically gathered at the end of the recruitment process, and you will be informed of the client’s identity at this stage. We approach references globally and ensure their written commitment to participate. The information collected is compiled into a confidential reference report.

If your references do not recommend you for the position, you will be informed of the decision.

Refusal of Applications

We reserve the right not to provide detailed explanations for the refusal of an application. This is due to varying international legislations and the need to maintain confidentiality. Our selection is based on the candidate who best matches the position, as determined in collaboration with our client.

Questions About the Status of the Process

To maintain confidentiality, we do not provide status updates on the recruitment process. Our advisors will contact you via email if further information is required. If a phone call is necessary, we will schedule a time and provide a numerical code to verify your identity during the call.

Truthfulness

We expect all candidates to provide truthful information. Any falsehoods will result in removal from the recruitment process. If we have doubts about the accuracy of the information provided, we will discuss this with you directly.

Participation in Job Interviews – Transport

We conduct interviews via phone, virtual platforms, or in-person meetings. For in-person interviews, our client covers standard transport costs, such as bus or train tickets. Flights (economy class) may be arranged in exceptional cases, with prior approval from the client.

Candidates from outside the EU must have valid travel insurance that meets Danish authorities’ requirements. EU citizens are covered by the European Health Insurance Card.

If you are invited to an interview, we may request additional information, such as:

  • Your current location and workplace;
  • Passport details;;
  • Ability to obtain a visa and work permit for the job location;

Our focus is on whether the candidate can succeed in the role and meet the company’s needs.
